Masses

There is a Sunday vigil Mass at St Bede's, Usworth on Saturday evenings at 5pm. There is also a vigil Mass at St Joseph's church Birtley at 5pm.

There are Sunday morning Masses in three churches:

  • St John Boste, Oxclose at 9.30am
  • Our Lady Queen of Peace, Penshaw at 10am *
  • Our Blessed Lady Immaculate, Washington Village at 11am

There are also Masses on:
Mondays at 10am at St Bede, Usworth 
                 at 7pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace *
Tuesdays at 10am at Our Blessed Lady Immaculate *
Wednesdays at 10am at St Bede * 
                       at 7pm at St John Boste
Thursdays at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Peace *
Fridays at 10am at St John Boste *
Saturdays at Our Bessed Lady Immaculate at 10am*

Celebrating Mass Together Safely

We have carefully considered the safety of our parishioners in our Churches and have put the following in place: 

Stewards will be available to welcome and guide as necessary.

Sanitiser – we encourage the continued use of hand sanitiser on entering and leaving our churches. Please make use of this facility.

Eucharistic Ministers are available once again to assist with Holy Communion.

We will offer a safe Sign of Peace during Mass.

Altar Servers can once again serve at Mass, using best safeguarding practices. 

Please do not attend services if you have  COVID.
